Football at Its Peak in Mexico

Football is the most famous game played in all over the world. Though it’s a game which is being ruled by European giants most of the times, but countries there are many countries from the American continents who have out ruled the European giants by their consistent performance in International Football. Mexico is one of such countries who have done that time and time again. Though they are not counted as one of the deadliest combination of 11 players on the field but history suggests that they have always emerged victorious when it meant the most.

Stories behind the Scenes

Mexico stepped into the boots of football against their neighbors Guatemala way back in 1923. They won their first international game and from there, they never looked back. Mexico has participated in World Cup in 1930 for the first time and from then they have made into the World Cup Finals Competition about 20 times. Mexico is also the part of CONCAF and Confederations Nations and takes part in CONCAF Cup and confederations Cup organized by FIFA.

Success Stories of Mexico

Mexico has never been successful in the biggest tournament of the football stage i.e. World Cups. But other than that Mexico has won the titles of CONCAF Cup 6 times. The biggest victory of Mexico was their victory in Confederations Cup in the year 1999. Brazil was the exiting champion of Confederations Cup in 1997 and they also finished as runners up in Football World Cup 1998. But still the Mexican players fought with great courage on the field throughout the tournament and created a history.

The Football League of Mexico

League Football in Mexico started in the form of Domestic League way back in 1920’s. After coming across two and a half decades a professional football league was finally established. Nowadays this professional football league of Mexico is known as Liga MX. It is one of the top most leagues. Though it’s not as popular as European League’s but it creates a lot of impact in the minds of American crowds.
